Accessibility statement
Many of the people who use this site are living with disability, or supporting someone who is. We would rather the site worked properly than claim that it does.
The standard we build to
This website is built to target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. That target shapes the markup, color choices, focus behavior and interaction design throughout the site.
What that means in practice
- Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, including the navigation menus.
- Focus is always visible, with a high-contrast indicator.
- A skip link moves straight to the main content.
- Headings follow a logical order, and landmarks are used for navigation.
- Text and interface colors are chosen to meet contrast minimums.
- Links and buttons are named by the text you can see, so what a screen reader announces matches what is on the page.
- Sections that open and close — the FAQ answers and the navigation menus — say whether they are open, and close with the Escape key.
- There are no forms anywhere on this site, and we collect no information about you through it. Every way of reaching us is a phone number, an email address or a link, so there are no fields to complete and no error messages to recover from.
- Animation is subtle, and is switched off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
Known limitations
We test this site with automated tools and by operating every page with a keyboard alone. Some checks can only be done by hand, and those are not finished: a full screen-reader pass with VoiceOver and NVDA, 400% zoom and text-only resizing, Windows High Contrast Mode, and voice control. Until they are, we describe this site as built to target WCAG 2.2 Level AA rather than as conforming to it.
Accessibility is never finished. If something does not work for you, that is a defect we want to know about — not an inconvenience you should work around.
